Wine should be a pleasure, not a test. I founded Philosophy of Wine to share the world of wine the way I wish it had been taught to me — rigorous enough to take you all the way to WSET Diploma level, but warm, clear and genuinely fun along the way.

My route here wasn't a straight line. I spent a decade as a corporate lawyer in London, Zurich and Shanghai — first at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, then as Senior Legal Counsel at Aviva — before following wine from a weekend passion into a full vocation. I moved to Luxembourg, worked my way through the WSET qualifications, and in 2023 completed the WSET Diploma with Merit, winning the Lustau Sherry Trophy along the way. Today I'm studying for the rigorous Master of Wine examination.

My classes are small, hands-on and built around great wine in the glass. I teach entirely in English, pour benchmark examples worth talking about, and make sure you leave each session understanding not just what you're tasting, but why. Whether you're here for the certificate or simply the love of it, you're very welcome.
